Cricket Wireless Houston, Texas
Cricket Houston Review:
MyCricket has some pretty impressive coverage all across Texas. During my short visit to Houston, TX I was able to sample some of that coverage. Here is my general consensus about coverage:
Cricket Wireless has Houston and most of Texas pretty well covered! Check cricket’s coverage map to see if they have you covered. Back to the review…
My tradition is that as soon as I get off a plane I light up my cell phone and let the texts/voice mails begin to roll in. Stopping into George Bush International in Houston was no exception. When I turned on my Samsung Messager II the beeps and bings began their unrelenting bombardment. The good news is that I immediately had service once the plane had landed. I had no problem checking my countless voicemails. On the way to Galveston we stopped off in Pasadena. On state highway 225 service was excellent, doing approximately 60mph (with minor traffic) we were able to hold a full 10minute conversation with no dropped calls. The caller noted that call quality was very good (though that may be attributed to the hardware: Samsung Messager II). Once we arrived in Galveston awhile later we checked into the Hotel Galvez where service was equally good. We checked in and setup our Cricket Wireless 3G broadband modem and it operated flawlessly. Speeds were great for browsing the web, getting e-mail and light youtube video watching. On the return trip to Houston we were able to maintain the 3G broadband on the car ride and was even able to update the site on state highway 225. Back in Houston service levels remained good. We were surprised that Cricket had such broad coverage in Texas and throughout the Houston area we never had to “roam” a single time. We might venture to say that Houston has some of the best Cricket coverage.
